Sailed my old favourite from my Southampton days en route to Cornwall for a long weekend. It was good to be back. 4.5 fully downhauled was pretty much spot on, maxed a lot of the time but some gustiness on the inside made me decide not to change down to 4.0. I'd psyched myself up for looping action so donned the helmet but have to admit I really didn't enjoy the first hour - no decent jump ramps so no loops :(. So the lid was ditched and literally straight away the session improved. Was soooo much better not having the helmet on - immediately I started sailing way way better and more agressively and felt like I was responding to the conditions not fighting against them. And the swell seemed picked up a tad too - ramps galore suddenly began to appear on the way out along with loads of nice one hit wonders for the return legs. It was one of those sessions that you didn't want to end but bad light and a desire to reach Falmouth before last orders prevented a longer play time. The session climaxed on my last run in when I scored a quality 4 full power bottom turns on a clean thigh-higher...mmmm...nice. :-)

Excellent session. Was almost ruined though by my bloody 400 getting stuck again so big thank you to everyone who spent 15 minutes with me doing the twist and shake! The bastard thing just wouldn't come apart but big relief 6 pairs of hands and two booms eventually did the job.

Now in Cornwall after an "interesting" drive through a torrential downpour and looks like only one day here will be sailable but it could be a cracker...tomorrow...SW 20-25kts on 3m @13secs...
